Former CDC Member Predicts Party’s Collapse: “CDC Will Never Return to Power”

Monrovia, Liberia – A former staunch member of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Boima JV Boima has publicly declared that the party is on a path to political extinction, comparing its fate to that of the once powerful True Whig Party, which ruled Liberia for over a century before fading into history.

In a strongly worded statement shared on social media, the former partisan now turned critic expressed deep disillusionment with the CDC’s legacy under former President George M. Weah. The former steward of the party warned that many Liberians are still “blind” to the scale of alleged looting, killings, and corruption that he says defined the Weah administration’s six-year rule.

The CDC that I was a member of will never come to power again. By the time the people get to know how Weah and his associates looted and plundered Liberia, even those shouting behind them now will flee,” he wrote.

Even Weah will be ashamed to lift his hand again for power or the presidency.”

The former insider claimed that while some stolen funds may still be circulating among CDC allies, time will eventually reveal the full truth, and disillusionment will set in among the party’s remaining loyalists. He predicted the CDC would become “deserted like a graveyard” as audit reports from the Boakai administration begin to expose past financial abuses.

“The prayers of Liberians and God removed Weah from power. He had everything money, power, influence but still lost. That’s not ordinary,” the ex-partisan said.

“He will only be president again if he repents and sincerely asks Liberians for forgiveness something which he will never do.”

The former CDC member further accused the party of causing “irreparable damage” to the nation and leaving behind a legacy of sorrow, economic hardship, and bloodshed.

“The damage and turmoil caused by the CDC can be compared to the 100 sorrowful years of the True Whig Party. No amount of propaganda can clean that easily.”

He ended his post with a dramatic plea for Liberians to “save and keep” his message, boldly declaring that history will soon prove him right. According to him, the day will come when CDC partisans themselves will rise in anger against the very leaders they once chanted for accusing them of stealing the nation’s future while offering crumbs in return.

As public attention increasingly turns toward anticipated audit reports and potential prosecutions under President Boakai’s leadership, such statements from former CDC insiders may signal deeper cracks forming within the once-mighty blue wave.
