President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has assured Liberians that his government is working to deepen international partnerships as part of efforts to advance national development under the ARREST Agenda.
Speaking from Tokyo, Japan, the Liberian leader disclosed that he held a high-level meeting with Dr. Tanaka Akihiko, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The talks centered on strengthening cooperation between Liberia and Japan in key sectors of the economy.
President Boakai expressed appreciation to the Government and people of Japan for their continued support to Liberia, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture, and health. He emphasized that these areas remain critical to his administration’s development priorities.
In response, Dr. Tanaka reaffirmed JICA’s commitment to Liberia, noting that Japan will continue to support road development, food security initiatives, healthcare programs, and youth empowerment projects.
Both leaders pledged to deepen cooperation aimed at achieving sustainable, people-centered development that directly impacts the lives of Liberians.
President Boakai is currently in Japan, where he is holding a series of engagements with government officials and development partners in pursuit of stronger bilateral ties.
