Monrovia, Liberia ~ In a scathing social media post, Dr. Lester Zomatic Tenny, a former stalwart of the former ruling Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and former Vice President for Technical Services at the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), has launched a blistering attack against former President George Weah, describing him as a “celebrated crook.”
The remarks came shortly after Mr. Weah announced the formation of a 23-man committee tasked with spearheading the reconstruction of the party’s headquarters, following its recent eviction by the court.
“Hahahaha so you form 43-man committee and asking them to form sub-committees and want us to believe you are a serious person? This guy is a celebrated crook. Give the party your condominium,” Dr. Tenny wrote in a post shared minutes after the committee’s unveiling.
The committee is expected to lead efforts to rebuild the CDC headquarters, a symbolic and logistical hub for the party that was recently reclaimed through legal proceedings. The decision to appoint a broad committee has been met with mixed reactions among party faithful and critics alike, but Dr. Tenny’s public rebuke stands out due to his past ties with both the party and government.
Dr. Tenny, who once served under the CDC-led administration, has in recent times distanced himself from the former president and appears increasingly vocal about internal party matters.
