Grand Bassa County – In a shocking turn of events, the Grand Bassa Police Detachment has made a breakthrough in the case of the alleged murder of 23-year-old motorcyclist Reuben Samuel, with the arrest of two suspects in connection to the crime.
The suspects, identified as 19-year-old Matthew Whea and 22-year-old Prince Sumo, both residents of Monrovia, were apprehended during a targeted security operation. Police authorities revealed that the suspects were found in possession of a black Boxer motorbike that coincidentally matched the serial number provided by the victim’s grieving family.
Further evidence linking Whea and Sumo to the crime was discovered when it was revealed that the motorcycle in their possession was, in fact, the same one owned by the deceased Reuben Samuel. This discovery strongly suggests the suspects’ involvement in the crime scene. Both individuals are currently in police custody as investigations into the murder continue.
In a related development, Othello Samuel, the brother of the victim, has also come under scrutiny by law enforcement in connection with the case. Although authorities have not disclosed any additional information regarding his potential involvement, this development adds an intriguing layer to the ongoing investigation.
After a medical examination, the victim’s body was released to his family on Sunday, August 24. A panel of fifteen coroner jurors subsequently confirmed that Reuben Samuel had indeed been murdered, adding weight to the seriousness of the case.
The Grand Bassa Police Detachment has affirmed that the case remains open and active, with further updates expected to be provided as investigations progress. The community anxiously awaits justice for Reuben Samuel as the authorities work diligently to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
