Margibi County, August 27, 2025 – In a surprising and candid public statement, J. Stanley Nyumah, Sr., a staunch supporter and longtime member of the governing Unity Party, has announced his suspension with the party, citing deep dissatisfaction and lack of recognition for his years of commitment and sacrifice.
Nyumah, known in the local political sphere for his vocal support and active involvement in the party activities since the 90s, released what he described as “a literature to my friends,” expressing his frustration over the internal dynamics of the party. He lamented that despite his unwavering loyalty and hard work, his contributions have gone unacknowledged.
“Today, with a deep discontent, I am pausing my relationship with the Unity Party after labouring with my strength, energy, sacrifices and loyalty for the success of the Party,” Nyumah wrote. “My efforts and contributions have not been acknowledged.”
He went on to criticize the leadership’s tendency to reward individuals with no visible contribution to the party’s growth, warning that such actions demoralize loyal members and erode the party’s integrity.
“This practice has not only discouraged loyal members like myself but has created an environment where merit and commitment are no longer the guiding principles,” he said.
Nyumah emphasized that his involvement in the Unity Party was not driven by personal gain, but rather by a belief in rewarding hard work and integrity. However, he said the decision to distance himself from the party was the result of prolonged dissatisfaction.
Highlighting a specific incident that further deepened his disillusionment, Nyumah pointed to a recent interview process led by Mr. Massaquoi Kamara of the Roberts International Airport (RIA) Board. He alleged that certain qualified individuals were deliberately denied participation, while a “surrogate” was handpicked to fill the position left vacant by the resignation of Madam Knuckles.
“A case in point is the Nicodemus interview conducted by Mr. Massaquoi Kamara of RIA Board which denied potential individuals from sitting the interview but selected a surrogate,” Nyumah claimed.
Despite his current stance, Nyumah ended his statement on a note of hope: “It shall be well.”
Nyumah’s public distancing could send ripples through the Unity Party’s local structure in Margibi, where he holds significant influence among grassroots supporters.
