Monrovia, Liberia ~ Recent drug enforcement operations in Monrovia have led to multiple arrests and confiscations, reinforcing citizen confidence in the newly appointed leadership of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA).
On September 23, 2025, the LDEA apprehended Mohammed Kieta, a 26-year-old from Fiamah Sinkor, widely known as a major drug dealer in the area. Kieta was caught at his scrap business with 93 grams of Kush, valued at approximately LRD 353,400 (USD 1,860).
Following his arrest, Kieta was charged and appeared before the city court on September 26. He remains in Central Prison awaiting further legal proceedings. Under Liberia’s current drug laws, the possession of this quantity of narcotics is a non-bailable offense.
Six Female Drug Dealers Sent to Court
In a separate operation between September 4 and 7, the LDEA, under the command of ACP Patrick Kormazu, conducted a raid in Montserrado’s ghettos, resulting in the arrest of six female drug dealers. The suspects, aged between 19 and 35, were found in possession of various amounts of Kush and marijuana.
The arrested women, now detained at Central Prison, face charges for illegal possession of narcotics, also a non-bailable offense. The list of suspects and seized drugs is as follows:
Nuch Autridge (30) – 63 grams of Kush
Massa Kamara (22) – 25 grams of Marijuana
Wede Teah (30) – 22 grams of Marijuana
Elizabeth Doe (23) – 62 grams of Kush
Precillia Koffi (19) – 63 grams of Marijuana
Massa Dsrnary (35) – 37 grams of Kush
