Galayla, Margibi County ~ The quiet rural town of Galayla in Upper Margibi is in mourning following the death of one of its most respected elders, Mr. Amose Tolue.
Mr. Tolue, who was widely known for his dedication to peacebuilding and community leadership, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, service, and unity. Prior to his death, he served as a peacemaker and a key advisor to the local leadership, often mediating conflicts both within Galayla and in surrounding towns and villages.
According to family sources, Mr. Tolue played an instrumental role in maintaining harmony in the region. His calm demeanor, dedication to dialogue, and commitment to fairness earned him deep respect among residents. “He was always ready to help resolve problems in the community,” a family member said. “He was organized, thoughtful, and dedicated to the wellbeing of others.”
Residents described his death as a profound loss, calling it “irreplaceable.” Many believe his consistent efforts toward peace and development brought meaningful change to the area. “His absence has brought a major setback to our community,” one resident said. “He was a pillar of unity and wisdom.”
Mr. Tolue is survived by two children, Baby Tolue and Mamie Tolue, who are believed to be residing in Bong County, as well as numerous relatives across Margibi, Bong, and other counties in Liberia.
In the coming days, the Tolue family is expected to convene a major family gathering in Barclay Farm, Margibi County, aimed at strengthening family ties and preserving the legacy of the late elder.
Mr. Amose Tolue has been laid to rest in his hometown of Galayla, District #5, Margibi County.
