Mystery Surrounds Disappearance of Little Henry Johnson in Wheyou Town As Traditional Ritual Unfolds

By Hogkins D. Tokpah

The peaceful community of Wheyou Town has been shaken by the sudden and baffling disappearance of two-year-old Little Henry Johnson. The toddler vanished on Monday, September 29, 2025, while playing with friends under the thick kitchen, sparking widespread concern and an extensive search that has so far yielded no results.

The child’s grandfather, Pa. Oldman Vai, told Verity Bassa Correspondent that a local female herbalist accused him and two other townsfolk—Gibson Gbotee and Oldman Vah—of being involved in Little Henry’s disappearance. The herbalist went further, claiming the child was killed and providing a specific location where his body could allegedly be found.

Pa. Oldman Vai vehemently denied all accusations, insisting he was not even present in town at the time and questioning how he could be implicated when the missing child is his own grandchild. Gibson Gbotee and Oldman Vah also denied any involvement in the case.

In a move to prove their innocence and clear their names, the three accused have agreed to undergo a traditional ritual called Kaifuu, which involves consuming a special substance believed by local custom to reveal the guilt or innocence of those accused.

As the community awaits the outcome of this ritual, the atmosphere in Wheyou Town remains tense, with residents hopeful that the truth will soon come to light and that Little Henry Johnson will be found safe. The mystery surrounding his disappearance continues to grip Grand Bassa County, as neighbors and authorities alike seek answers.
