Zwedru, Grand Gedeh – The Unity Party (UP) fundraising rally in Zwedru was not only overshadowed by external protests but was also severely undermined by a scathing, public denunciation delivered from within the party ranks.
Samuel Kulah Howard, a self-identified and dedicated partisan of the governing Unity Party, seized the opportunity during the high-stake event to launch a devastating critique against the party’s leadership, alleging systemic abandonment and neglect of grassroots supporters.
In a disclosure made directly at the rally, Howard expressed intense frustration and a profound sense of betrayal, stating he and others who risked their safety for the party’s victory have been left completely adrift.
“After he placed his life on the line for Unity Party and the party won,” Howard asserted, “they have been abandoned for the past two years.”
This explosive declaration publicly exposes a significant fissure within the ruling party—a widening gap between the elected elite and the loyalists whose sacrifices secured their power.
Howard’s dramatic intervention transformed a celebratory fundraising drive into a forced confrontation over unfulfilled political promises and institutional ingratitude.
