The Liberia National Police (LNP) has launched an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of a 24-year-old motorcyclist identified as Habakkuk in Gloffaken, Barrobo District, Maryland County.
According to the Maryland County Detachment Commander of the LNP, William T.Neufville, the situation is alarming, and the police are making every effort to cooperate with local authorities in the district to uncover the truth behind the incident.
The incident reportedly occurred on the road between Gloffaken and Juluken Number One in Barrobo District. Commander Neufville stated that upon receiving the information, the LNP immediately dispatched a team to the area to commence a preliminary investigation.
District authorities told police that Habakkuk and two other individuals were traveling by motorcycle from Gloffaken to Juluken when the motorcycle reportedly broke down. All three reportedly dismounted from the motorcycle, after which Habakkuk suddenly ran into the nearby bush, reportedly with the intention of returning shortly. However, he has not been seen since, prompting serious concern among community members.
The Liberia National Police say investigations are ongoing and have assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to locate the missing motorcyclist.
