Senator Saah Joseph Promises Holiday for Muslims if Elected President in 2029

Monrovia — Senator Saah Joseph, leader of the People’s Action Party (PAP), has pledged to grant a national holiday for Muslims in Liberia if he is elected president in 2029.

“Once I take over as President in 2029, Muslims will indeed be granted a holiday in this country,” Senator Joseph declared during a recent interaction in Montserrado County.

The announcement comes amid ongoing discussions about religious inclusivity in Liberia, where public holidays are currently limited and often reflect the country’s Christian majority. Senator Joseph’s proposal has drawn attention from both supporters and critics, highlighting the growing conversation about representation and recognition of Liberia’s Muslim community.

Senator Joseph, a prominent figure in Liberian politics and senator of Montserrado County, has indicated that his administration would prioritize policies promoting equality and cultural recognition for all religious groups.
