A former campaign aide to Grand Kru County District #2 Representative, Jonathan Fonati Koffa, has criticized the lawmaker, accusing him of neglecting his district since the 2023 elections.
Samson Wiah, who served as Assistant Campaign Manager for Research and Strategy during Koffa’s campaign, raised the concerns in a Facebook post shared two days ago.
His comments follow reports that Representative Koffa has acquired a radio station in Monrovia, a development that has sparked public discussion.
A report by OKFM 99.5 and OKTV claimed that Koffa has taken over Freedom FM as Chief Executive Officer. A graphic accompanying the report also identified him as CEO and Executive Director of Freedom Communications Incorporated.
The report has generated reactions online, with many questioning what the move could mean.
In his post, Wiah questioned the Representative’s priorities, arguing that the reported investment in media does not match what he described as limited engagement with constituents.
He said he could not recall the last time Koffa visited District #2 or Grand Kru County after winning the election to meet or thank voters.
Wiah also alleged that the lawmaker had, at one point, shown little interest in local politics in Grand Kru County.
He further claimed that financial support once provided to students from the county, including those attending William V. S. Tubman University and other institutions has stopped.
Wiah argued that if the reports about the radio station are true, the move raises concerns about priorities, especially at a time when many constituents are still expecting regular engagement and support.
His statement, which identified his former role in the campaign, has added to the ongoing public debate.
As of publication, Representative Koffa has not responded to the concerns or the reports about the radio station. Efforts to reach his office for comment were unsuccessful, and the claims about student support and other allegations remain unverified.
