Nestled in the heart of Zowinta, Electoral District One in Bong County, Zowinta, is fast becoming one of Liberia’s emerging tourism and relaxation destinations as Menina Resort continues to attract the attention of many Liberians and foreign visitors alike.
The beautiful resort, owned and operated by a son of the District, Mr. William F. Kotee, is steadily gaining national recognition for its natural environment, modern facilities, quality services, and peaceful atmosphere that many visitors describe as unique and refreshing.
Surrounded by nature and blessed with a calm and attractive landscape, Menina Resort has in recent months become a center of attraction for tourists, students, professionals, international guests, and ordinary Liberians seeking a serene environment for relaxation, meetings, discussions, and social gatherings.
Speaking about the vision behind the facility, Mr. Kotee said Menina Resort is not only intended for entertainment and leisure activities, but also serves as a gathering place for intellectual engagements, educational interactions, and community development conversations.
According to him, the resort has evolved into a hub where students regularly gather for academic discussions, while both national and international guests continue to use the facility for meetings, conferences, and other important engagements.
“Menina Resort goes beyond fun activities,” Mr. Kotee explained. “Today, the area has become a center for students, organizations, national guests, and international visitors to meet, interact, exchange ideas, and build meaningful relationships.”
Beyond tourism and hospitality, the Zowinta Native emphasized that one of the major objectives of the resort is to create employment opportunities for Liberians, especially young people within the district and county.
Kotee disclosed that every worker currently employed at the facility comes from Electoral District One and other parts of Bong County, something he believes is contributing significantly to local economic empowerment.
From hospitality workers to maintenance staff and security personnel, the resort continues to provide jobs for several young Liberians who previously had limited employment opportunities.
Mr. Kotee is now calling on Liberians living abroad and other financially empowered citizens to return home and invest in their respective districts and counties as a way of supporting national development and reducing unemployment across the country.
He stressed that the Liberian government alone cannot provide jobs for every citizen, noting that private sector investment remains one of the strongest solutions to the country’s growing unemployment challenges.
“It is not possible for government to employ every Liberian,” Kotee noted. “That is why those of us who have the means must begin investing back home in our districts and communities to help create opportunities for our people.”
Many residents of Bong County have since praised the establishment of Menina Resort, describing it as a major boost to tourism, youth empowerment, and local business growth in the county.
