Promise Fulfilled -Pres. Boakai Delivers 285 Yellow Machines

The Liberian President, H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, has finally fulfilled his promise of importing 285 earth-moving yellow machines intended to boost road connectivity across Liberia. The last batch of machines has arrived.

The Yellow Machines Management Committee announced on Saturday, May 30, 2026, that the final batch of the equipment has arrived, completing the government’s importation program aimed at improving road connectivity nationwide.

Speaking to the state broadcast at Camp Sandee Ware Military Barracks, a senior member of the Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee disclosed that deployment of the machines to the counties will begin on June 29, 2026. The rollout is expected to start in southeastern Liberia before extending to other regions.

According to government officials, the 285 earth-moving machines will be distributed among all 15 counties of Liberia to support road connectivity, rehabilitation and maintenance projects. The initiative is expected to provide county authorities with the equipment needed to improve farm-to-market roads, enhance transportation networks and ensure year-round access to communities.

The yellow machines program is one of the Boakai administration’s flagship infrastructure projects designed to strengthen road rehabilitation efforts and reduce reliance on rented or contracted construction equipment.

The first batch of the machines arrived from China on February 27, 2026, drawing celebrations from thousands of Liberians. A second shipment of 137 machines followed, while the final consignment arrived on Saturday, bringing the total number to 285.

The fleet includes excavators, bulldozers, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, motor graders, dump trucks, scrapers, skid-steer loaders, trenchers, compactors, rollers, dragline excavators, crawler loaders, articulated haulers, mini excavators, wheel tractor-scrapers, front-end loaders and other heavy-duty equipment intended to accelerate road construction and maintenance projects throughout Liberia.

Government officials say the deployment of the machines will significantly enhance access to communities, support economic activities, and improve transportation infrastructure across the country.

This version incorporates the nationwide distribution of the machines to all 15 counties for road connectivity and maintenance.
