Vah Questions Brumskine Daughter’s Absence, Says Liberty Party Remains Divided

By Hogkins Tokpah

Prominent Grand Bassa County son Charles Vah has suggested that the absence of Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine from the Liberty Party’s 21st anniversary celebration is evidence that the party has yet to fully reconcile its internal differences.

Speaking after watching the anniversary program held at Monrovia City Hall, Vah said he was surprised that the daughter of the party’s late founder, Cllr. Charles Brumskine, did not attend the event.

“I realized that the vision of Cllr. Charles Brumskine is no longer in the Liberty Party,” Vah said. “Her absence tells you that indeed the Liberty Party has not reconciled.”

Vah blamed the party’s leadership for what he described as its inability to foster unity and maintain collaborative relationships among members. According to him, the absence of key figures from the anniversary celebration sends a message that divisions still exist within the party.

While acknowledging that the event was a grand occasion, Vah argued that successful political institutions must remain open and inclusive if they hope to attract the support needed to win elections.

He urged Liberty Party leaders to reassess the party’s objectives and work toward fulfilling the vision of its late founder rather than allowing internal disagreements to push members away.

The Liberty Party recently celebrated 21 years of political existence, bringing together members and supporters to commemorate the party’s legacy and future aspirations.
