Injustice as “big man” not arrested? WAEC Bribery Scandal rocks as calls for fairness grow

An investigation by Verity News has uncovered a pattern of alleged injustice amid a damaging bribery scandal linked to the ongoing WAEC-WASSCE public examinations.

One of the seven proctors, who was arrested and charged yesterday for alleged bribery and criminal conspiracy, has provided more information to Verity News about the alleged scandal.

Even though the proctor admitted that the scandal actually took place, the proctor said they were not alone in it. “Yes, we took bribes. But the main WAEC supervisor of the center who is the principal of the school should also be arrested. He approved of it and also received his share. Seven of us cannot only account for this. The main man has to account too.”

The proctor, who prefers anonymity, named Mr. Francis J. Kollie as the mastermind of the examination malpractice that took place at the Global Net School in the FDA Community, Paynesville. At the time of the alleged bribery, Mr. Francis J. Kollie, the Principal of the Global Net School, was the WAEC Supervisor at that Examination Center. He supervised all the seven (7) proctors that have been arrested and forwarded to Court on charges of alleged bribery, unlawful rewarding of public servants, and criminal conspiracy.

According to the proctor, a total of 428 WAEC candidates allegedly contributed money as part of the scheme. Critics argue that holding only the seven proctors accountable while excluding the supervisor raises serious concerns about fairness and equal justice. The proctor claimed that it was the WAEC supervisor, Francis J. Kollie, who largely facilitated the smuggling of answers into the examination hall in exchange for money.

Questions are now being raised as to why the WAEC Supervisor, Mr. Francis J. Kollie, who also serves as the school’s principal, has not been arrested and charged despite allegations that he was fully aware of the activities and even facilitated it.

A student was also arrested yesterday along with the seven proctors. But the supervisor is not yet arrested.

Note: The proctor shared Mr. Francis Kollie’s picture and the picture of the school where the alleged scandal happened. Justice or Injustice?
