Defeated Senator Dallas A. V. Gueh has vowed to return as Senator of River Cess County in 2029. Gueh was defeated in 2020 by incumbent Senator Wellington Geevon Smith.
In the 2020 midterm senatorial election, Smith, an independent candidate, obtained 3,248 votes (22.96%) while Gueh, a CDC candidate, obtained 2,149 votes (15.19%).
With 3 years and 3 months to the October 2029 election, the former Senator of River Cess County, who spent 9 years in power as a Senator, has officially declared his ambition to contest the seat.
Gueh claimed at a local program that he is committed to “taking over” the seat from Geevon Smith who seems uncertain about his own political future.
Gueh also warned Senator Bill Twehway of of serious consequences if Twehway goes against him in 2029.
Gueh did not say what the consequences would be. But both Gueh and Twehway supported the 2023 presidential ambition of former President George Weah.
