MONROVIA – Verity News has launched a background review of government officials recently dismissed or suspended over their alleged links to a major drug trafficking investigation in Liberia.
Among those identified is Albenigo Janior, a National Security Agency (NSA) agent dismissed by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai following the reported US$317 million drug bust. Authorities have alleged that some officials facilitated, protected, aided, or abetted drug traffickers and drug trafficking organizations.
This newspaper investigation aims to uncover the backgrounds of those implicated and support efforts to expose criminal networks responsible for the country’s growing drug problem.

Verity News also reported that its research indicates Janior has long been associated with the former ruling Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), citing photographs showing him in party attire.
No formal criminal charges against Janior have been announced, and the allegations remain under investigation.
