Monrovia – Former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has strongly rejected claims by former lawmaker Yekeh Kolubah alleging that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai behaved disrespectfully during a condolence visit following the death of her son, Charles Neilson Philip Taylor IV.
In a public statement, Howard-Taylor described the allegation as “completely false and disrespectful,” insisting that no such incident occurred. She said President Boakai’s visit was a sincere expression of sympathy during one of the most difficult periods of her family’s life and should not be distorted for political purposes.
The former Vice President condemned what she described as a growing culture of misinformation, character assassination, and the abuse of national leaders, warning that such conduct undermines public trust and democratic institutions.
She called on Kolubah to immediately retract the statement and apologize to President Boakai, the Liberian people, and her family, urging political actors to uphold truth, decency, and mutual respect in national discourse.
