MONROVIA, LIBERIA | 26 August 2026 — As earlier announced, a rigorous inspection of the headquarters of all registered political parties is underway across Monrovia.
On Wednesday, 26 August 2026, the National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC-Liberia), through its Political Affairs Section, commenced the exercise at the headquarters of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Movement for One Liberia (MOL), African Liberation League (ALL), Liberia National Union (LINU), Reformers National Congress (RNC), United Independent Democrats (UID), the Democratic National Allegiance (DNA), and Liberia People Democratic Party (LPDP).
The ongoing exercise forms part of the NEC’s broader responsibility to assess the administrative, organizational, and institutional readiness of political parties, while strengthening communication, compliance, and cooperation throughout the electoral cycle.
Two inspection teams, spearheaded by Commissioners Josephine Kou Gaye and Barsee Leo Kpangbai, engaged representatives of the political parties on the status and structure of their respective headquarters, including the facilities available within the premises.
The inspection also examined the leadership structures of the parties, including officials responsible for inter-party and government affairs, as well as other relevant institutional arrangements.
During the exercise, some party headquarters were found closed, while others could not be located.
In some instances, no party officials were available to interact with the NEC inspection teams.
Meanwhile, the inspection exercise continues from Thursday, 27 August through Monday, 31 August 2026.
Following the exercise, a comprehensive report will be submitted to the NEC Board of Commissioners (BoC) for appropriate action in accordance with the New Elections Law of Liberia and the Regulations and Procedures for Political Parties, Coalitions, Alliances, and Independent Candidates.
