In Korngba District, Gbarpolu County, about 11 towns have reportedly come under attack by elephants, with the animals destroying crops, damaging livelihoods, and forcing hundreds of residents from their homes.
The growing human-elephant conflict has sparked fear across nearby towns and villages, leaving residents deeply concerned and wondering what could happen next.
The people living at the center of the unfolding human-wildlife conflict are calling on the Government of Liberia to quickly intervene.
It can be recalled that in August 2026, farmers and other local residents of Gbarma District, Gbarpolu County, also raised alarm over increasing elephant invasion, which they said led to the severe damage of crops and the disruption of farming activities.
