MONROVIA, Liberia — September 19, 2026 Brace Institute of Technology has graduated 48 students from its certificate and diploma programs, urging the graduates to transform their newly acquired knowledge and skills into opportunities that can contribute to Liberia’s workforce and economy.
The graduates were honored on Saturday, September 19, during the institution’s 9th Graduation Ceremony, which brought together graduates, family members, facilitators, institutional leaders and other guests to celebrate the completion of their professional training.
The graduating class completed programs in several career-focused disciplines, including Network Administration (N+), Human Resource Management, Computer Hardware, QuickBooks, Advanced Excel and Computer Fundamentals.
Delivering the keynote address under the theme “From Certificate to Impact: Turning Knowledge into Opportunities,” Chief Executive Officer of Orphan Concern, Amos Hina-Sawboh, challenged the graduates to look beyond obtaining certificates and seeking conventional employment.
Sawboh said professional success requires more than academic qualifications, urging the graduates to develop the character, discipline, creativity, determination and competence needed to remain relevant in an increasingly competitive job market.
He encouraged the graduates to view their certificates as tools for creating opportunities rather than merely credentials for securing employment.
“If employment opportunities do not exist, use the knowledge you have gained to create one,” Sawboh told the graduating class.
He placed particular emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation and the practical application of professional knowledge, describing them as important pathways through which graduates can contribute to Liberia’s workforce and economic development.
The Chief Executive Officer of Brace Institute of Technology, Prince Naho Williams Droh, said the institution was established to develop professionals equipped with practical knowledge and skills to address real-world challenges.
Droh said the institute’s information and communications technology and business development programs are designed to provide learners with professional expertise through experienced facilitators with practical exposure to their respective industries.
According to him, the institution’s broader goal is to help professionals strengthen their competencies, improve their career prospects and contribute to the development of Liberia’s workforce.
“Brace Institute of Technology is established to develop professionals with practical knowledge that can help provide practical solutions to our real world,” Droh said.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Brace Institute of Technology Program Director Isaac M. Fatorma Jr. highlighted the institution’s emphasis on discipline, attendance, class participation and competency.
Fatorma disclosed that students are required to maintain at least 80 percent attendance and class participation to qualify for graduation.
He said the requirement reflects the institution’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only certified but also prepared to perform effectively in professional environments.
“Brace stands for competence, and the management is deliberate about developing a workforce that is ready to improve the working environment of Liberia,” Fatorma said.
He assured current and prospective students that the institution remains committed to providing guidance and professional support throughout their training.
“Brace is designed to help you build the skill sets that set you apart from others, and we stand ready and prepared to provide you the best guidance you need to take you through,” he added.
Representing the graduating class, Maranda Blamo delivered the class address under the theme “Legacy Builders: Building Today, Imparting Tomorrow.”
Blamo challenged her fellow graduates to view graduation not as the end of their professional journey, but as the beginning of a new responsibility to apply their knowledge, build networks and create opportunities for others.
She encouraged the graduates to collaborate on projects, share knowledge and use their professional networks to develop initiatives that can create opportunities beyond themselves.
Blamo also expressed appreciation to the management and training staff of Brace Institute of Technology for the support and learning environment provided throughout their studies.
“To the management of Brace Institute of Technology and all of our training staff, we say thank you for your patience, guidance and the enabling environment you provided us throughout our study,” she said.
The 9th graduation ceremony underscored the role of technical and professional training in preparing Liberians with practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship and other career opportunities.
For the 48 graduates, the ceremony marked a transition from structured professional training to the next stage of their careers, where the value of their qualifications will depend increasingly on how effectively they apply their knowledge and skills.
