GBARNGA, Liberia — Police in Gbarnga have charged and forwarded taxi driver Cooper Dennis to court in connection with a July 4, 2026 traffic accident in Suakoko that claimed the lives of three people.
Dennis is facing allegations of reckless driving, exceeding the speed limit under Section 10.10 of Liberia’s Traffic Laws, and causing death, injuries and property damage under Section 10.4.
According to Regional Traffic Commander Chief Inspector Jacob Aaron Vesselee, Dennis was driving a gray taxi when he allegedly attempted to overtake a yellow taxi. The maneuver reportedly led to the crash in Suakoko.
The three people who died in the accident have been identified as Zack Mongor, Hezekiah Jorkeh and Melissa Holder.
Police said the crash also resulted in injuries and damage to property. The exact circumstances surrounding the accident will now be examined through the court process.
Following the investigation, police forwarded the case to court for further legal proceedings.
