MARGIBI COUNTY, Liberia — Former Liberian journalist and motivational speaker Kerkula Mulbah has challenged graduates of Good Shepherd Evangelical High School in Lower Margibi County to take responsibility for their future, pursue their dreams relentlessly, and avoid decisions that could undermine their personal and professional development.
Mulbah delivered the challenge while serving as a motivational speaker at the school’s 12th Graduation Convocation, where he addressed graduating students under the theme, “Don’t Disappoint Yourself.”
In his address, Mulbah urged the graduates not to allow fear, failure, excuses, or societal challenges to prevent them from achieving their ambitions, emphasizing that their future would largely depend on the decisions they make and the sacrifices they are willing to undertake.
He encouraged the graduates to follow their dreams regardless of the obstacles they may encounter, noting that success requires determination, patience, discipline, and a willingness to keep moving forward.
Mulbah also challenged the students to embrace failure as part of the journey toward success, urging them to learn from their mistakes rather than allow setbacks to define their future.
“Fail your way out,” he emphasized, encouraging graduates to understand that failure should serve as a learning experience and not a reason to abandon their ambitions.
Further stressing the importance of sacrifice and hard work, Mulbah urged the graduates to do today what others are unwilling to do so they can achieve tomorrow what others may not have.
He cautioned them against settling too early in life without developing meaningful careers, encouraging them to pursue education, professional training, and opportunities that would secure their long-term independence.
The motivational speaker also challenged the graduates to eliminate excuses from their lives, stressing that personal growth requires accountability, commitment, and the courage to take action.
“Scratch excuses out of your book,” was among his key messages to the graduating students.
Mulbah’s message centered on the importance of self-discipline, perseverance, career development, and personal responsibility as essential ingredients for achieving lasting success.
He urged the graduates to see their graduation not as the end of their educational journey but as the beginning of greater responsibilities, opportunities, and challenges.
The 12th Graduation Convocation of Good Shepherd Evangelical High School marks another milestone in the institution’s contribution to education and human capital development in Lower Margibi County.
