On Friday, December 20, 2024, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), visited the personnel of the AFL at Camp Edward Binyah Kesselly Military Barracks, delivering a heartfelt Christmas message and expressing deep appreciation for their service to the nation.
During his visit, President Boakai acknowledged the unwavering dedication of AFL members and extended special thanks to their families for their continued moral support. He emphasized the Armed Forces’ critical role in the nation’s Security and stability, stressing that a strong military is essential for Liberia’s future.
“I am committed to transforming the Armed Forces of Liberia into a model military force,” the President remarked. He reiterated the Government’s dedication to investing in the AFL’s growth and capabilities, ensuring they are adequately equipped to perform their duties excellently.
In recognition of their sacrifices, President Boakai presented Christmas gifts to the AFL, including 300 bags of rice, two cows, and US$10,000. He also donated footballs and jerseys for the children of AFL personnel, fostering a sense of community and celebration during the festive season.
The President highlighted ongoing military logistical challenges but assured the personnel that his administration is focused on addressing these issues. “We will strengthen the Armed Forces of Liberia, ensuring they are well-prepared and equipped to defend our nation,” he stated.
The visit concluded with warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and renewed pledges of unwavering support for the AFL, reflecting the Government’s commitment to the welfare and success of Liberia’s military forces.
