Another graduate of AME Zion University’s College of Criminal Justice, Department of Crimes and Corrections, has brought pride to his alma mater by emerging as the Dux of Liberia National Police (LNP) Training Academy Class 47 and receiving the prestigious Inspector General’s Academic Excellence Award during the academy’s graduation ceremony on Friday, June 12, 2026.

James T. Kollie, who graduated from the Department of Crimes and Corrections in 2024, was among a group of students who expressed interest in joining the Liberia National Police through the institution’s training partnership with the LNP and other universities.

Following months of rigorous academic and professional training, Kollie distinguished himself as the top-performing recruit of Class 47. His exceptional performance earned him the distinction of graduating not only as the Dux of the Liberia National Police Class 47 but also as the overall Dux of the entire academy, outperforming trainees from both the Liberia National Police and the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA).

In recognition of his outstanding academic achievement, Kollie received the Inspector General’s Academic Excellence Award, the highest academic honor presented during the graduation ceremony.

Presenting the award, Liberia National Police Inspector General Gregory O. Coleman commended Kollie for his dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence. The Inspector General expressed confidence in the young officer’s future, noting that his performance reflects the qualities of a leader and suggesting that he possesses the potential to one day rise through the ranks and serve as Inspector General of the Liberia National Police.

An emotional and grateful Kollie described the recognition as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

“This is a dream come true for me,” he said. “I want to thank everyone who contributed to this journey and supported me along the way. I promise to continue making you proud through my service and dedication.”

Kollie’s achievement stands as a testament to the value of hard work, perseverance, and academic excellence. His success also highlights the impact of educational partnerships that provide young Liberians with opportunities to serve their nation through professional careers in law enforcement.

As he begins this new chapter of public service, family members, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers continue to celebrate his accomplishment and wish him success in his career with the Liberia National Police.

His remarkable achievement serves as an inspiration to aspiring law enforcement professionals across Liberia and demonstrates that excellence, determination, and commitment remain the foundation of meaningful leadership and national service.
