Another incident at China Union just moments after a Liberian worker lost his left leg

A general worker, Amos M. Ketee, 32, has reportedly lost his hallux sinister or left big toe at China Union operational site in Bong County, Central Liberia.

At about 10:36 this morning, Ketee was assigned a mobile crusher up the mine at Bong Peak station. According to multiple eyewitnesses who spoke to Verity News on conditions of anonymity, Ketee had no safety boots while working in such an environment.

“…It was about 10:36 this morning when our colleague, Amos M. Ketee, lost his left toe. He works with us here as a general mine worker. Ketee actually fell from up on his toes and had no safety shoes on while working. The management has asked us not to report this. They want us to hide it. But we trust your outlet to protect our identities. Let Labor Ministry come here right now. 95% of us, workers, do not have safety materials. The Labor Ministry is aware of our condition at this mine, but they have been bought by these Chinese to remain quiet. Our other colleague Chris Tougbo just lost his entire left foot again. We are working here as slaves. We need help. President Boakai needs to help us,” a worker who leaked the photos of Amos and Chris said to Verity News.

Efforts to get reaction from China Union did not materialize up to reporting time.
