Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has suspended the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), Rustonlyn Suacoco Dennis, in response to mounting allegations of incidents of corruption investigated and exposed by this paper. The decision, announced Saturday through an Executive Mansion press release, comes just hours after the Liberian leader vowed to rid his administration of corrupt officials.
The suspension follows a resolution from NOCAL’s Board of Directors recommending that Dennis be removed from her duties pending an investigation. The directive mandates that she hand over all government assets in her possession and step aside as an interim leadership team takes charge of the company’s operations. Vice President for Operations Fabian Michael Lai has been designated to oversee the transition.
The Executive Mansion emphasized that the move aligns with the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible governance. Officials assured the public that a thorough probe into the allegations against Dennis will be conducted to determine the appropriate course of action.
