MONROVIA – Alternative National Congress (ANC) Political Leader Alexander B. Cummings says he is not ruling out any political option ahead of the 2029 elections, including running for Vice President, running for President, or staying out of the electoral process altogether.
Speaking in an interview on Spoon Talk, Mr. Cummings said that for now, he cannot automatically close the door on any of those possibilities.
“Anything is possible,” he averred, stressing that his decision will be guided by what serves the interest of Liberians.
He said he will do whatever is best for the country, whether that means leading the ticket, serving as a running mate, or stepping aside from the race entirely.
Mr. Cummings did not say when he would make a final decision on his 2029 plans.
The ANC leader has been a prominent opposition figure in Liberian politics since 2017, and his latest comments are likely to fuel further speculation about the opposition’s direction and possible alliances as the next general and presidential elections approach.
Initially, Cummings said he could only run for the presidency and nothing else.
