Former Executive Mansion Chief of Protocol Ambassador Nora Finda Bundoo on Sunday paid an emotional tribute to Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah, thanking him for standing by her during what she described as one of the most difficult periods of her life.
Bundoo made the remarks during the funeral service of her father, the late Elder Elijah Tamba Bundoo, attended by family members, friends, government officials, and other mourners.
As she addressed the gathering, Bundoo reflected on the people who had remained close to her through both good and difficult times.
She said many of those she had helped in the past were no longer there when she needed support the most.
“But in the midst of it all, when everybody who I saved or died for was never there, there was Hon. Thomas P. Fallah,” she said.
Turning to the Deputy Speaker, Bundoo thanked him for standing with her regardless of politics.
“Papa, big brother, forget about politics. At the time, you stood by me and said, ‘Da my own,'” she said.
Holding back emotion, she concluded her remarks with a brief message to Fallah.
“Thank you, Thomas,” she said.
Her comments drew applause from mourners, many of whom viewed the moment as one of the most heartfelt tributes delivered during the funeral service.
The funeral brought together senior government officials, politicians, relatives, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the life of Elder Elijah Tamba Bundoo.
While many speakers reflected on his life and legacy, Bundoo’s public acknowledgment of Deputy Speaker Fallah stood out as a personal expression of gratitude for someone she said remained by her side when many others had walked away.
