Health Ministry Continues Diabetes, Hypertension Screening in Montserrado

The Ministry of Health, through its Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries (NCDI) Unit, has continued its diabetes and hypertension screening exercise, reaching residents and marketers at the New Omega Market in Red Light and Duala Market.

The exercise, conducted on September 11, 2026, brought healthcare professionals to the two major commercial areas to screen citizens and provide health education on diabetes and hypertension.

While medical teams conducted screenings, other health workers engaged residents and marketers, emphasizing the importance of early detection and seeking timely medical care.

According to the Ministry, the exercise forms part of its ongoing efforts to promote the prevention and early detection of non-communicable diseases, particularly diabetes and hypertension.

Health authorities noted that both conditions can develop silently and remain undiagnosed until serious complications occur.

The Ministry is encouraging citizens to make regular health checks a priority and take proactive steps to protect their health.
