Nimba County — The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested a 47-year-old man, identified as Stephen Dahn, for allegedly cultivating marijuana in Nimba County.
According to the LDEA, Dahn was arrested on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at about 9am at God-Willing Camp in the Gee Forest, following an operation conducted by officers of the LDEA Nimba County Detachment.
The operation was led by the County Commander, with officers reportedly walking approximately 18 hours to and from Tappita City to reach the location.
During the operation, LDEA officers allegedly seized 122 kilograms of marijuana and 46 kilograms of marijuana seeds, bringing the total quantity of drugs confiscated to 168 kilograms.
The LDEA placed the estimated value of the seized marijuana and seeds at US$21,200, equivalent to approximately L$3,816,000.
Dahn, a resident of Bangdeglay in Tappita, is identified as a member of the Gio/Dan ethnic group and is allegedly involved in marijuana farming.
The LDEA said the suspect is currently undergoing a full-scale investigation and is expected to appear before court on Monday.
The arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency to crack down on the cultivation, trafficking, and distribution of illegal drugs across the country.
