MONROVIA, Liberia — September 5, 2026: The Indomitable National Youth Congress is calling for the resignation of Liberia’s Inspector General of Police, Gregory Coleman, accusing him of failing to address alleged police abuses, human rights concerns and declining public confidence.
The group also criticized the government’s handling of the drug crisis, unemployment, rising living costs, taxation, housing and limited rehabilitation services for young people affected by substance abuse.
It further accused the government of applying justice selectively, claiming that opposition cases receive faster attention than cases involving government officials and allies.
The Congress endorsed the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) and its leader, Alexander B. Cummings, describing him as a potential alternative to Liberia’s traditional political establishment.
The group said an ANC-led government would focus on job creation, investment, support for small businesses, education and reforms to natural-resource concessions.
It also urged Liberians to consider a “Third Lane” in politics, centered on accountability, dignity, opportunity and improved governance.
