MONROVIA, Liberia — The Management of John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFK) has dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating on social media alleging that doctors at the hospital are engaged in a “go-slow” action over salary-related concerns.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the management said the claims suggesting that no medical doctors are currently on duty at the country’s premier referral hospital are entirely untrue and intended to create unnecessary public panic.
“At no time has there been any protest or disruption of medical services at the institution,” the statement emphasized.
According to the hospital administration, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals remain fully on duty and continue to provide uninterrupted medical services to patients and the general public.
The management further warned against the spread of unverified information, noting that such reports could undermine public confidence in the health institution and create fear among citizens seeking medical attention.
“We caution the public and media institutions against spreading unverified information that may cause unnecessary alarm or undermine confidence in the country’s premier referral hospital,” the statement added.
JFK Medical Center urged the public to rely only on the institution’s official communication channels for accurate information regarding the hospital’s operations and services.
The statement was signed by James-Emmanuel D. Cole, Jr., Director of Communications at John F. Kennedy Medical Center.
JFK Medical Center remains Liberia’s largest referral hospital, serving thousands of patients from across the country.
