The Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), which is the State broadcaster, has publicly expressed disastification over continued low budgetary appropriations.
In a social media post, Fahngon through a mathemical explanation said that LBS did not receive any increment when US$400 million more was added on the national budget to make it US$1.2 billion for fiscal year 2026.
In a short notice to Speaker Richard Koon, Fahngon’s post further indicated that nothing has been added to the LBS again in the draft supplementary budget.
“Mr. Speaker, Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon, Distinguished members of the HOuse, LBS is the State-owned Media, and she deserves better. $400M = 0. and $45M = 0,” DG Eugene Fahngon writes.
