The Government of Liberia and the European Union (EU) will convene on August 13, 2024, for the 12th EU-Liberia Partnership Dialogue, a pivotal meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and addressing key mutual interests.
The dialogue will be co-chaired by Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, and the Head of the European Union Delegation to Liberia, Ambassador Nona Deprez.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the meeting is set to focus on a broad range of topics critical to both parties, rooted in their shared values and commitment to collaborative progress.
Among the key issues on the agenda are bilateral EU-Liberia cooperation, Good Governance and Rule of Law, Human Rights, Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability, International and Regional Peace, Justice and Security, Trade, Investment, and Economic Cooperation.
The dialogue will also address Cultural Exchange, Youth Employment and Education, Entrepreneurship and Skills Development, as well as Infrastructure, Technology, and Connectivity.
The Liberian delegation will comprise Cabinet members and Heads of Agencies, while the European Union Delegation will include Ambassadors and Chargés d’Affaires from EU Member States in Liberia, specifically Sweden, Germany, France, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
The meeting will commence at 8:00 AM at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia.
This twelfth session of the EU-Liberia Partnership Dialogue is anticipated to produce significant insights and agreements that will further enhance the partnership between Liberia and the European Union.
The outcomes of the dialogue are expected to reinforce both entities’ commitment to shared prosperity and continued collaboration in addressing pressing global and regional challenges.
As Liberia and the EU continue to work together on issues of mutual interest, this dialogue is seen as an essential platform for deepening their relationship and aligning their efforts towards sustainable development and shared goals.
