Liberia Denies Walking Out During Netanyahu’s UNGA Speech

MONROVIA, Liberia — Liberia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Baba Sillah, has dismissed reports that Liberia walked out of the United Nations General Assembly Hall during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address.

In a public clarification posted on Facebook, Sillah described the reports as “false and misleading,” saying he personally remained seated in Liberia’s assigned seat throughout Netanyahu’s entire statement.

“Liberia did not exit the Hall, as alleged,” Sillah stated.

He accused unnamed individuals of deliberately spreading what he called false information about Liberia’s conduct during the General Debate.

Sillah further encouraged the public to verify the footage of the session, saying Liberia’s assigned seat could be seen above the Japanese delegation’s seat and remained occupied throughout the Israeli leader’s speech.

“The facts speak for themselves,” he said.
