Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Health, the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), and the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC) have clarified that Liberia currently has no suspected, probable, or confirmed case of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), dismissing reports circulating on social media.
In a joint statement, the institutions urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading misinformation and unverified claims that could create unnecessary panic across the country.
Health authorities emphasized that the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia are the official bodies responsible for reporting and communicating disease outbreaks in Liberia.

The statement noted that the Ministry of Health, NPHIL, and their partners continue to maintain surveillance and preparedness measures nationwide. These measures include monitoring at health facilities and border entry points, public awareness campaigns, and ongoing coordination with international and regional health partners, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC), Africa CDC, and other regional health authorities.
Authorities also encouraged citizens to continue observing basic health and safety protocols, including regular handwashing, avoiding direct contact with bodily fluids of sick individuals, promptly reporting suspected illnesses, and relying only on official information from the Ministry of Health and NPHIL.
The statement was jointly released by the Ministry of Health, the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), and the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC).
