The Liberian Embassy near Abuja has filed an official complaint against controversial Nigerian cleric Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele who prophesied hardship and crisis in Liberia, while peddling a coup narrative against President Joseph Boakai.
The dispatch, dated June 8, 2026, was sent to Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Liberian Embassy asserted that pastor Ayodele’s “prophesy” could ignite negative public opinion, harm Liberia-Nigeria relations, and undermine peace, stability, and democratic governance in Africa’s oldest Republic.
The Liberian embassy also recalled pastor Ayodele’s continued involvement in Liberia’s political affairs and requested that Nigerian authorities review the matter and take appropriate action.
