GANTA CITY, Nimba County – A prominent businessman in Ganta, Mr. Pharaze L. Dekpah, has announced plans to establish a commercial bank in the city, a move he says is aimed at expanding financial services and investment opportunities for residents.
Mr. Dekpah, Chief Executive Officer of DEK-TA Loan Corporation, disclosed that he has completed the necessary requirements through the Ministry of Finance and other relevant Liberian institutions to begin operations. He noted that the financial institution will be headquartered in Ganta and will serve customers across the region.
According to Mr. Dekpah, whose business assets are valued at nearly US$2 million, DEK-TA Loan Corporation currently operates branches in Maryland, Sinoe, River Cess, and Bomi counties. He said the proposed bank will allow customers to open deposit accounts and benefit from savings and investment opportunities.
The businessman further explained that depositors will have the option to withdraw their funds either after four months or annually, depending on their preferred savings plan.
He added that the institution intends to offer an annual interest rate of 18 percent on qualifying deposits.
