In a major boost to its reputation, the Liberia Maritime Authority has earned recognition from the Liberia Revenue Authority for leading all institutions in income tax remittance.
The honor underscores LiMA’s consistent compliance with tax regulations and its growing role in supporting Liberia’s fiscal stability. It also reflects the Authority’s emphasis on transparency, accountability, and sound financial management.
Receiving the award, Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Neto Zarzar Lighe Sr. described the achievement as a collective milestone driven by the dedication and professionalism of LiMA staff. He noted that ongoing internal reforms have strengthened operational efficiency and boosted revenue performance.
In recent years, LiMA has implemented strategic measures to modernize its systems, improve compliance, and enhance revenue generation within the maritime sector. These efforts have significantly increased contributions to the government’s domestic revenue base.
The Authority said the recognition will serve as motivation to sustain high standards of governance and financial discipline. It reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Liberia’s development agenda through responsible financial stewardship.
