The Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation (MKNK-F) has extended warm wishes of peace, prosperity, and spiritual fulfillment to Liberian Muslims as they begin the Holy Month of Ramadan. In a gesture of solidarity, the Foundation donated 40 bags of rice to two mosques and elderly community members.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, March 1, 2025, and signed by exiled Liberian activist and Foundation founder Martin K. N. Kollie, the MKNK Foundation expressed its commitment to supporting the Muslim community during the sacred period of fasting and prayer.
“As our Islamic brothers and sisters across Liberia and beyond begin a month-long journey of fasting and praying, the MKNK Foundation wishes to extend good tidings, love, peace, and prosperity,” the statement read. “Since Ramadan is also about sharing, we thought donating 40 bags of rice (25kg) to our brothers and sisters would be a good way to identify with them as they start this Holy Month.”
According to the statement, the donation was distributed as follows: 15 bags to the Benson Street Mosque in Monrovia, 15 to the Black Gina Mosque in Jacob Town, and 10 to older residents in the Vai Town and Clara Town communities.
Kollie described the contribution as a humble offering to support those observing Ramadan. “With humility, it was a privilege for the MKNK Foundation to share its widow’s mite at the start of this special journey. Wishing y’all a blessed month of joy and kindness. Shalom,” the statement concluded.
The Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation, known for its humanitarian cause, supports vulnerable groups across Liberia.
