Students of the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) have blocked a major road in Monrovia in protest over the prolonged absence of teachers, disrupting traffic and demanding action to address the ongoing classroom crisis.
The students’ protest comes amid a teachers’ go-slow that has reportedly kept educators away from classrooms for several weeks over unresolved salary and welfare concerns.
The action by the students reflects growing frustration over the disruption of academic activities and the impact of the teachers’ absence on their education.
The teachers’ go-slow has raised concerns about the continuity of learning across MCSS schools, as students remain without regular classroom instruction.
