MONROVIA — Liberia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Atty. Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, has held talks with the leadership of the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) in South Korea aimed at strengthening cooperation in youth development, agriculture, and technical education.
According to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Minister Kruah met with IYF Founder Rev. Dr. Ock Soo Park during her visit to South Korea and pledged to identify land for the construction of an IYF youth center in Liberia. She also invited the organization’s leadership to visit Liberia to advance discussions.
The meeting identified agriculture and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as priority areas for collaboration. IYF expressed willingness to support agricultural development by sharing Korean farming techniques and to assist Liberian students in accessing technical training opportunities aligned with their career interests.
Both parties agreed to formalize the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with Minister Kruah expected to coordinate the process with IYF’s West Africa Director, Jinsung Kim, and Liberia Country Director, Sungjae Kim.
Founded in 2001, IYF operates in more than 90 countries and has established youth centers across Africa.
