In a an effort to boost women’s football in Liberia, New Energy Electrical Vehicles Liberia (NEEV Liberia), an innovative startup focused on transforming the nation’s transport sector through electrification, has signed an $18,000 partnership agreement with Shaita Angels Football Club.

Shaita Angels FC, a prominent participant in the Liberia Football Association’s (LFA) Upper League for female football, will benefit from a one-year sponsorship deal, with an option for renewal.

The partnership was formalized at a signing ceremony held at the office of NEEV Liberia, where the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NEEV Liberia, Mr. Cassell Kuoh, and the CEO of Shaita Angels FC, Ms. Benita Urey, affixed their signatures to the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

Speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Kuoh highlighted that the sponsorship aligns with NEEV Liberia’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at fostering a new era of development and empowerment in Liberia.

“This partnership is more than just a sponsorship; it is part of our commitment to supporting community initiatives and creating opportunities that inspire and uplift our youth, particularly in the realm of sports,” said Mr. Kuoh.

He emphasized that NEEV Liberia is dedicated to contributing to the growth of Liberian football, particularly women’s football, which has seen increasing participation and success in recent years.

Ms. Benita Urey, in her remarks, expressed gratitude to NEEV Liberia for the partnership. She noted that the sponsorship comes at a crucial time as Shaita Angels FC prepares for the upcoming season.

“This support from NEEV Liberia is not just financial assistance; it is a significant morale booster for our players and the entire team as we gear up for the league,” Ms. Urey stated.

She added that the partnership with NEEV Liberia serves as an inspiration to the team and a testament to the growing recognition and support for women’s football in Liberia.

In addition to the partnership with Shaita Angels FC, Mr. Kuoh demonstrated his deep commitment to the development of football in Liberia by fulfilling a previous pledge to Determine Girls Football Club.

During the recently concluded West African Football Union (WAFU) Tournament held in Bo, Sierra Leone, Mr. Kuoh had promised $10,000 for each match won by Determine Girls, who proudly represented Liberia in the tournament.

Following their impressive performance, Mr. Kuoh delivered on his promise, presenting $37,000 to Determine Girls FC. This amount included $10,000 for each of the three victories secured by the team, along with an additional $500 for each member of the 34-person delegation.

During the presentation, Mr. Kuoh, who also serves as the President of Fassell FC, expressed his joy in supporting Determine Girls and reiterated his commitment to advancing Liberian football. “It is an honor to fulfill this promise to Determine Girls, who have made Liberia proud on the regional stage. My support for Liberian football is unwavering, and I will continue to contribute to its growth and success,” Mr. Kuoh declared.

Receiving the funds on behalf of Determine Girls FC, the club’s President, popularly known as “Master Queen,” expressed profound appreciation to Mr. Kuoh for his unwavering support.

She acknowledged that his contributions have been instrumental in the team’s success and pledged that the club would continue to strive for excellence. “We are deeply grateful for Mr. Kuoh’s exceptional support.

His generosity and belief in our team have been a driving force behind our achievements. We promise to keep making our supporters and sponsors, especially Mr. Kuoh, proud,” she said.

The partnership between NEEV Liberia and Shaita Angels FC, coupled with Mr. Kuoh’s fulfillment of his financial commitment to Determine Girls FC, marks a significant moment for women’s football in Liberia.

These actions not only provide much-needed financial support but also signal a growing recognition of the importance of promoting and investing in women’s sports.

As NEEV Liberia continues to innovate in the transport sector, its involvement in sports sponsorship reflects a broader commitment to social responsibility and community development, setting a positive example for other corporate entities in Liberia.
