The Chaplain-General of the Honorable Liberian Senate, Apostle Sagacious A. Jallah, has honored the Director-General of the Civil Service Agency (CSA), Dr. Josiah F. Joekai, Jr., for his exemplary leadership and dedicated service to Liberia over the years.
Apostle Jallah, presenting Dr. Joekai with a plaque on Friday, July 17, 2026 at CSA central office in Congo Town, offered a special prayer in recognition of his commitment to institutional reforms at the CSA and the broader reform of Liberia’s civil service.
The honor comes as Liberians at home and abroad prepare to celebrate the nation’s 179th Independence Day on July 26, 2026.
The Chaplain-General of the Liberian Senate noted that the remarkable work of the Civil Service Agency is gradually transforming Liberia into a country with a more productive workforce.
“The transition that I’m seeing is something that encouraged me to come and express my appreciation, present this recognition, and offer a prayer because there are individuals whose dedication deserves to be recognized,” Apostle Sagacious A. Jallah asserted.
The Liberian clergyman reminded the Civil Service Agency Director-General that thousands of Liberians admire both the work of the CSA as an institution and his leadership.
Apostle Jallah stressed the significance of Liberia’s 179th Independence Day, noting that it is a time for all Liberians to work together in the spirit of unity and national development.
In response to the honor, Dr. Josiah F. Joekai, Jr., Director-General of the Civil Service Agency, expressed deep appreciation to Apostle Sagacious A. Jallah, Chaplain-General of the Liberian Senate, for the surprise honor and recognition.
“This truly came as a surprise to me. I am deeply emotional because I never expected such an honor, nor the powerful wording and inscription on this plaque.”
Dr. Joekai described the recognition as a symbol of patriotism and motivation for him and his team at the Civil Service Agency to continue implementing robust reforms across Liberia’s public service.
Apostle Jallah was accompanied by Bishop Dr. E. Reuben Logan II of the Apostolic Outreach Church International in Joe Bar, Paynesville.
