Monrovia, Liberia – July 22, 2026 – Nimba County has added another major achievement to its growing list of national accolades after being honored with the Golden Image Award 2026 as National County Development of the Year in the International Category.
The prestigious award, presented in Monrovia on July 21, recognizes Nimba County’s remarkable development progress, innovative governance, and sustained commitment to improving the lives of its citizens through impactful public service and infrastructure initiatives.
Superintendent Ma Kou Meapeh Gono received the award on behalf of the people of Nimba County, further cementing her administration’s reputation for delivering transformative leadership and driving unprecedented development across the county.
The latest honor comes just one year after Superintendent Gono was named Outstanding Public Official of the Year 2025 by the same institution, underscoring what many describe as a consistent record of visionary leadership and tangible development results.

Speaking after receiving the award, Superintendent Gono dedicated the recognition to the people of Nimba County.
