Police in Margibi County have arrested Pastor G. Israel Coleman for his alleged role in a human trafficking scheme that left several Liberian youths stranded in Nigeria under the false promise of relocation to Australia and Canada.
The case came to light on February 17, 2025, after J. Emmanuel Duanah filed a complaint in Kakata. He and another guardian, Hawa Dunor, accused Pastor Coleman and a woman identified as Lovette Jackson affectionately known as “Jacqueline”, of deceiving them into sending their children abroad for what they thought were legitimate opportunities.
Among the victims are Musu Sheriff, Daniel Kollie, Hanna Duanah, and William Vesselee. Payments totaling between $1,700 and $5,500 were allegedly made to facilitate the youths’ travel. Pastor Coleman reportedly handled all travel documentation and arrangements.
Testimonies revealed a pattern of deception. Hanna Duanah, upon arrival in Nigeria, recognized Jacqueline, who denied knowing her. Vesselee later contacted his mother, saying they were in danger and being pursued by local authorities.
Further investigation revealed Pastor Coleman falsely claimed he led the “House of Holy Spirit International Church.” Authorities later confirmed he is head of Resurrection Power Ministers International in Kakata. Police say investigations are ongoing.
