The Liberia National Police (LNP) substation in Careysburg, Montserrado County District #1, has arrested a 35-year-old man identified as Joseph Fallebulleh for allegedly impregnating his 11-year-old stepdaughter.
Fahnbulleh is now being investigated by the Women and Children Protection Section (WACPS) of the Liberia National Police. The alleged statutory rape reportedly happened in the New Land Community, Careysburg City, a suburb outside Monrovia.
The alleged survivor told the police that her stepfather Joseph Fahnbulleh began abusing her since 2025 while their family was still residing in the Barnerville area and the abuse continued even after they relocated to Careysburg.
According to the survivor, her stepfather had repeated sex with her, while at the same time threatening to harm her if she ever reported the abuse to anyone.
According to initial police report, it was the survivor’s uncle who discovered the abuse and reported it after noticing a sudden decline in the child’s physical appearance.
According to police investigation, it is alleged that the mother of the survivor, Patricia Wesseh, has been attempting to cover up and protect her fiance, Joseph Fahnbulleh.
Fahnbulleh has denied the alleged sexual abuse but admitted that they have been sleeping in a single bedroom. Medical report from the James David Hospital in Paynesvillie Confirmed that the 11 year old child was repeatedly abused and is now 5-month pregnant.
The Police have charged Fallebulleh with statutory rape as provided for under section 14.70 of the new Liberia Rape law and he will be forwarded to the Careysburg Magisterial Court for prosecution. .
According to reports, the Ministry of Gender has taken the survivor to a safe home.
