Police Officer Faces Multiple Charges over alleged shooting at a local entertainment Center

Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police has charged and forwarded to the Monrovia City Court a police officer following his alleged shooting at a local entertainment center in Omega Community in Paynesville.Alieu A. Kenneh, 41, a Patrol Officer assigned at the Zone-4 Base Police Station, has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering another Person, and Illegal Possession and Sales of a Deadly Weapon. According to Police Charge Sheet, defendant Kenneh charges stems from an incident that occurred on March 31, 2025, at Power Destiny Entertainment and Restaurant owned by a lady identified Massa Sirleaf.

The investigations further revealed that defendant Kenneh, who was not on duty, entered the entertainment center purchased liquor and began displaying a revolver pistol in a threatening manner.According to eye witnesses after a brief altercation between him and the owner of the entertainment center, the defendant allegedly discharged the firearm and struck Emmon Namah the shop owner’s older sister on her right thigh the injury which was later confirmed to have caused a minor fracture.

Namah was later rush for treatment at the Omega Community Clinic and referred to the Swaray Clinic for another check-up, where doctors confirmed a broken bone.Police investigation indicated that defendant Kenneh is not a licensed firearm carrier, noting that he allegedly acquired the gun from Guinea.Defendant Kenneh later turned himself in and surrendered the gun a Revolver Pistol, model 206CAL38SPLRIA1827234 APINTL: PAHRUNP NV ACP Philippine and other accessories like a holster and spent shells.

Alieu Kenneh has been fully investigated, charged, and disrobed by the Professional Standards Division of the Liberia National Police.The investigation further confirmed that defendant Kenneh was under no threat or attack at the time of the shooting and had no reported history of dispute with the victim.Meanwhile, the matter is currently before the Monrovia City Court Judge L. Ben Barco pending trial.
